In tandem with my scholarly and teaching achievements, I have been active in conducting, organizing, and coordinating film screenings and festivals, academic events, and extra curricular activities.
I have co‐organized (with Jung-‐bong Choi) an international film studies conference titled Korean Cine-‐Media and the Transnational at New York University in 2010. At the University of Michigan, I was a principal organizer of an interdisciplinary workshop Hallyu 2.0: The Korean Wave in the Age of Social Media which was held on April 6, 2012. I have edited Hallyu 2.0: The Korean Wave in the Age of Social Media (2015) based on the papers presented at the event.
Since my arrival at NTU in 2015, utilizing Singapore’s geographical advantages, I have organized multiple international film studies conferences, workshops, and symposiums as well as a series of colloquia that brought some of the world’s most prominent scholars in Asian cinema to Singapore.
